ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਕਣਕ ਅਤੇ ਆਟੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ 20 ਲੱਖ ਟਨ ਵਾਧੂ ਕਣਕ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੀ ਮੰਡੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਚੇਗੀ। 25 ਜਨਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਨੇ ਕਣਕ ਅਤੇ ਕਣਕ ਦੇ ਆਟੇ (ਆਟਾ) ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਫਰ ਸਟਾਕ ਤੋਂ 30 ਲੱਖ ਟਨ ਕਣਕ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਚਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਬਿਆਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਨਿਗਮ (ਐੱਫਸੀਆਈ) ਓਪਨ ਮਾਰਕੀਟ ਸੇਲ ਸਕੀਮ (ਓਐੱਮਐਸਐਸ) ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਖੁੱਲੀ ਮੰਡੀ ਵਿੱਚ 20 ਲੱਖ ਟਨ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਵਾਧੂ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਰੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਸਟਾਕ ਈ-ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਟਾ ਮਿੱਲਾਂ/ਨਿੱਜੀ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ/ਕਣਕ ਉਤਪਾਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਥੋਕ ਖਰੀਦਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਟਾਕ ਨੂੰ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੇਚਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵ ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ।
